On a warm and colorful Saturday, July 12, 2025, PFLAG proudly participated in Pride in the Park at Esther Short Park in Vancouver, Washington—a joyful celebration of LGBTQ+ pride, visibility, and community.

As the morning unfolded, rainbow flags waved in the breeze, music played gently across the park, and vibrant booths filled the grounds with life and laughter. It was a day rooted in love, resilience, and unity.

The festivities began with heartfelt opening remarks from Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, who reminded us why this event—and the movement it represents—matters so deeply.

“For over three decades, every second Saturday in July, we’ve come together to celebrate, to acknowledge, and to embrace the importance of inclusiveness in this place we call home.”🏠

Those words set the tone for a day of solidarity and purpose.

As the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them, PFLAG was honored to stand alongside allies, families, churches, civic groups, and elected leaders to celebrate the beauty of community and the power of advocacy.

Our volunteers spent the day connecting with attendees—sharing stories, offering resources, and inviting people into our mission: To create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ individuals and their loved ones.

We spoke with visitors about our vision of an inclusive future—one in which every LGBTQ+ person is safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved. ❤️

A memorable moment came during a personal exchange with Mayor McEnerny-Ogle, who expressed her appreciation for PFLAG’s local engagement:

“You're using it well. Thank you so very much,”😊 she said, acknowledging our use of community space and our efforts to reach out to neighborhoods across Vancouver.

Throughout the day, new connections were made, longtime allies stopped by to show support, and many attendees joined the growing PFLAG family—united in the fight for equality, fairness, and dignity.

Pride in the Park 2025 reminded us once again:When we stand together in love and advocacy, progress isn’t just possible—it’s unstoppable. 🏳️ 🏳️‍🌈 🌈
